Current Courses

Jewish Studies is an interdisciplinary academic program at the College of Charleston. As such it offers courses from several different academic departments that focus on the Jewish tradition, past and present. By far, the majority of students taking Jewish Studies courses are not themselves Jewish, and there is absolutely no preconditions or requirement to know anything about Judaism to take our courses. Most students take Jewish Studies courses as a way to appreciate cultural diversity and to gain valuable skills, including writing, critical thinking, analysis, research, and public speaking. In our world today, acquiring intercultural fluency is critical to our self growth, and is a key component employers are looking for.
